You are about to undergo surgery at the Clinique Tivoli-Ducos. You will be cared for by the anesthesia and intensive care department, which is made up of 8 anesthesiologists, 7 nurse anesthetists (IADE) and 2 secretaries whom you can contact.
Make an appointment before your surgery
You will need to undergo a pre-anesthesia consultation between 48 hours and 2 months before your operation date. It will be carried out on site at the clinic or by teleconsultation, depending on where you live, or for a second surgery. You can book an appointment directly on Doctolib.
Course of the appointment with the anaesthetist
This will be an opportunity to take stock of your history, medical problems and allergies, all of which are essential to the anesthetic strategy for your surgery. We'll explain the broad outlines of your care and safety rules. This is the ideal time to ask all your questions. This is where we decide which pre-operative check-up to carry out. The doctor who sees you at the consultation often provides your anaesthesia, but in certain circumstances, such as an emergency, the schedule may have to be changed. In such cases, one of the 8 associates conducts the anesthesia and its monitoring.
Post-operative
Post-operatively, you are admitted to the recovery room and then to the surgery or continuing care department for monitoring and convalescence. You will benefit from modern anaesthesia techniques, enabling you to recover quickly and control pain and nausea.
The anaesthetist visits the Continuing Care Unit every morning. In the general surgery department, we visit you immediately after surgery, and then at the request of our colleagues if there is a problem.
