Post-operative accommodation

Following endometriosis surgery, there is a low risk of complications, particularly during the first 4-10 days postoperatively.

For this reason, it is important for patients to be able to contact our clinic quickly for effective management of these complications.

This applies in particular to patients undergoing surgery for endometriosis of the digestive tract (especially as we no longer have a protective stoma), urinary tract, nerves or diaphragm.

Nevertheless, most of our patients live several hours away from Bordeaux, which can make access to the clinic difficult, particularly in the event of inclement weather, traffic jams, social unrest, etc.

Our partner hotel residences

To ensure efficient, high-quality, reassuring and safe care for our patients undergoing complex endometriosis surgery at our institute, we have set up a partnership with two hotel residences close to the Tivoli Ducos clinic:

  • Residhotel Galerie Tatry, 174 cours du Médoc 33300 Bordeaux (9 min from the clinic)
  • Domitys résidence le Millésime, 10 rue Henri Salmide 33300 Bordeaux (12 min from the clinic)

This partnership enables patients to be accommodated immediately after discharge close to the clinic and to benefit from daily monitoring for 4 - 10 days, thanks to our network of private nurses.

Blood tests

In practice, patients are visited by a nurse every morning. Blood is drawn to measure white blood cell count and C-reactive protein. The laboratories send the results directly to the patients by email around lunchtime, and the patients must send them immediately to our specific email box:

An abrupt and marked rise in these parameters may indicate an impending infectious complication. We immediately call the patient concerned to ask her to stop drinking, smoking or eating, and to join us promptly for a clinical examination, a radiological examination, or even an exploratory laparoscopy.

This allows complications to be managed even before the first clinical signs (pain, fever or peritonitis) appear.

Accommodation rates

The cost of accommodation is also taken into account, as it is financed by the Agence Régionale de Santé at a rate of €80 per patient/night for patients benefiting from CPAM coverage. This is an experimental measure that has just been extended until 2025.

For foreign patients, the rates are shown on the hotel websites, but remain very affordable compared with the cost of accommodation in Bordeaux, while the cost of visits by nurses and blood tests is around 300 euros.

If patients wish to stay in different accommodation, we insist that it is preferable for this to be around both hotels, so that the same nurses can make the morning visit (they cannot travel to the other end of town).

You will find all the information you need in the attached documents. Our secretariat will also be happy to answer any questions you may have on this subject and on the eligibility criteria for this type of accommodation.
