Today, April 30, 2021, we have created the Association Filière Endométriose Nouvelle Aquitaine (AFENA), which brings together all the players, professionals and establishments, working for the care of endometriosis in our greater region.
Mr. Olivier Veran, the French Minister of Health, honored us with his presence at the opening of AFENA's General Meeting. We have the full support of Mr Benoît Elleboode, Director of ARS Nouvelle Aquitaine, which hosts our head office. The AFENA board is made up of 13 members, representing professionals from public and private establishments and town cabins (doctors, midwives and paramedical professionals), directors of public and private establishments, and patient associations.
Our aim is to create a regional network model, in which each player fulfills its own specific mission, with a shared desire toimprove endometriosis care in our greater region. The first president of AFENA is Pr Claude Hocké of Bordeaux University Hospital. The next general meeting is scheduled for September 17, 2021 in Bordeaux.
